How the calculation works

Layers = ceil(cubes ÷ (columns × rows)). Each dimension = count × cube side + internal gaps + two edge clearances.

Before you use the result

Assumes aligned cubes rather than loose pouring. Add walls separately and allow more space for comfortable access.

A worked example

Cubes: 120 · Columns: 6 · Rows: 5 · Cube side (mm): 8 · Gap between cubes (mm): 0.5 · Internal clearance per face (mm): 2.
