How the calculation works
Clear slot width = (internal width − (compartments − 1) × divider thickness) ÷ compartments.
Before you use the result
Dividers sit between compartments; box outer walls are already excluded. Positions show each divider centre measured from the inside left wall.
A worked example
Box internal width (mm): 300 · Compartments: 5 · Divider thickness (mm): 3.
